Exchanging the MoA at the event were MSUMC Founder Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr. Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid and PERKESO Group Executive Officer Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohammed Azman Dato’ Aziz Mohammed.

Also present at the event were Tuan Haji Zahri Abd Ghani, Chief Executive at MSUMC; Datuk Dr. Hafez Hussain, Chief Executive Officer at PERKESO Rehabilitation Centre; and Professor Dr Badrisyah Idris, Medical Director at MSUMC.

“MSUMC agreed to provide a space and consultation service for the PERKESO Rehabilitation Centre in 2023 to the public. Moving ahead, MSUMC is determined to extend the collaboration with PERKESO in the area of human capital development and to provide consultation services related to cognitive rehabilitation and hyperbaric oxygen therapy,” highlighted the MSUMC founder in his welcoming speech.

The PERKESO Rehabilitation Centre was put in motion starting on July 4, 2023, and it provides intensive rehabilitation treatment to communities in Klang Valley, centralising on medical rehabilitation, physiotherapy, neuro-robotics, occupational therapy, and disability management.

Furnishing 26 beds, with a team encompassing 40 nurses, medical doctors, and 8 therapists, the PERKESO Rehabilitation Centre at MSUMC sees a steady stream of patients endeavouring for a second chance at life after experiencing calamities. Over the course of six months since its commencement, 151 PERKESO-insured individuals have undergone effective rehabilitation at this centre.

“The strategic collaboration between MSUMC and PERKESO Rehabilitation Centre put things in place for both organisations to foster effective, advanced, and quality neuro-robotic rehabilitation and treatment services. We are not only looking at prioritising PERKESO contributors affected by disasters but also at catering to the needs of wider communities, in need of such recovery treatments,” remarked the PERKESO Group Executive Officer.

The officiating event also included a ceremonial gift presentation and a group photo session, symbolising mutual respect and the strengthening of the public-private institutional relationship. This was followed by a visit to the PERKESO Rehabilitation Centre located at Level 10 of MSUMC.
